Opelika contractor arrested again; this time she’s been booked into the Lee Co. Detention Facility

We have confirmed 37-year-old Amber Nicole McCrory was booked into the Lee Co. Detention center tonight after being arrested by the Opelika Police Department. Her charges are listed as “HOLD” and we are working to find out more information regarding tonight’s arrest.

Meanwhile, the Opelika contractor was arrested back on June 12 in Etowah County on various Home Repair Fraud and Theft By Deception charges.

Those charges stem from tornado damage in Etowah County back in March. McCrory is accused of taking advantage of storm victims after an EF-3 tornado hit the county destroying several homes and businesses.

McCrory is accused of taking nearly $10,000 dollars for repair work from victims, according to the Gadsen Times.  Authorities say McCrory does not have a state contractor’s license. They also say in some of those victims’ cases no repair work was done at all on the damaged buildings.

We will update specifics concerning this latest arrest as soon as we can.
