Opelika woman charged with home repair fraud

Local News

OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) – A contractor from Opelika faces charges of home repair fraud after a tornado hit Etowah County back in March.

Amber McCrory, 37, is accused of taking advantage of storm victims after an EF-3 tornado hit the county destroying several homes and businesses.

McCrory is accused of taking nearly 10 thousand dollars for repair work from victims, according to the Gadsen Times.

Authorities say McCrory does not have a state contractor’s license.

They also say in some of the victims’ cases against McCrory that no repair work was done at all on the damaged buildings.
