COLUMBUS Ga. — Paws Humane is creating a new tradition to bring awareness to their animal shelter. The Barks and Blues festival, where people can adopt pets, listen to live music and shop with different vendors.
They say during the summer time more cats and dogs are being housed at the shelter, which makes it crucial for people to know which animals they have available so that they can be adopted.
The organization also says they are taking steps to make Columbus a no kill community. During the summer, they have a name your own price program, where adopters can choose the price that they want to pay for any of the animals.
