Phenix City Police: Man charged with 5 counts of robbery

PHENIX CITY, Ala (WRBL) - Phenix City Police say a man involved in two robberies has been arrested.

Phenix City Police Department is charging Deaunte Adams with 5 counts of Robbery 1st degree. 

Phenix City Police arrested Adams on Tuesday, July, 10th. Police say Adams had a gun as he approached three women with a child outside of a Marathon gas station on US Hwy 431 South. They say Adams demanded that the women hand over their cash. The women told him they didn't have any cash at which point he demanded they remove the child from the vehicle. Once the child was removed he drove off with the car.

On Thursday, July 5 Adams attempted to take another vehicle from the Chevron gas station on US Hwy 431 South. Someone confronted him at which point Adams pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the individual. 

Phenix City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and the US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force arrested Adams without incident.
