COLUMBUS Ga. — Family and friends are talking about the events surrounding a fatal car wreck that took the life of a Columbus man on Monday afternoon. 25-year old Jeremie Perry passed away, when a car lost control and flipped over on the ramp getting on highway 80 going westbound near Bradley Park Drive.
Jacobi Mackey, Perry’s childhood friend, says he was in shock when he heard the news that his good friend had passed away.
He says Perry was a man of god and that they used to attend chapel AME Church in Phenix City together, now that he’s gone Sundays will feel a little different.
Mackey said, “I’m praying for them and I’m grieving their loss with them. We can get through this together. I’m going to continue to prey. I’m a man of God and I believe that God makes no mistakes and I’m happy that Jeremie is in a better place because we now have a guardian angel watching over us.”
According to the Columbus Ledger Enquirer the woman driving the car says Perry slammed the woman’s head in the wheel while she was driving and that caused her to lose control. No other cars were involved.
