Governor Nathan Deal announced a record-breaking amount of funding has been transferred to the Hope Scholarship and Georgia Pre-K Program.
Deal says the Georgia Lottery Corporation transferred more than $1.4 billion to the State Treasury’s Lottery for Education account.
It is the largest annual transfer on record. The transfer brings the total funding for education programs to more than $19.8 billion during the lottery’s 25-year history.
Deal says the Georgia Lottery is continuing to do great work to help millions of children across the state. More than 1.8 million students have received Hope Scholarship and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the State’s Pre-K Program.
