OPELIKA, Ala.- Labor Day Weekend, all 10 Robert Trent Jones Trail golf courses will donate $10 of all green and cart fees from the weekend to the Louisiana flood victims.
Director of Golf for Grand National in Opelika, Scott Gomberg says tourism in the state means a lot for the courses on the trail, and many folks from Louisiana use the courses throughout the state. They wanted to give back as much as possible.
Gomberg said the trail is all about helping, and giving back to a community in need is something they take pride in.
“It just makes us come to work everyday and make us feel a little bit better about what we’re doing,” Gomberg said. “When you can come to work and know that you’re working for a company that values other people and other communities it makes you feel good when you walk through the door and you can give back to something that’s important in today’s day and age.”
People can also come in up until Labor Day to write checks to the Red Cross for the cause.
