Russell County commissioner asks for attorney's resignation

RUSSELL COUNTY, ALA (WRBL) - A Russell County commissioner is asking the County Attorney to resign.

This morning commissioner Ronnie Reed told fellow commissioners more than a hundred thousand dollars has been spent in legal fees alone.

Reed accuses County Attorney Kenneth Funderburk of giving the commissioners bad advice. He also adds there are signs of discrimination on the board of commissions.

"I feel that we need to go in and bring the EEOC in and The Civil Liberties Union to investigate the commission office. If necessary we need to shut The Russell County Commissioners office down if necessary to get justice, that's the way I feel," says Ronnie Reed, Russell County Commissioner District 4.

News 3 reached out to Funderburk at his law firm. He did not wish to comment on the matter.
