Russell County High School debuts new main entrance

Russell County, AL - Russell County High School has a new secure entrance. School board members, students and faculty attended the ribbon cutting, showcasing the new entrance for all guests.

The remodeling project took about a year to complete, adding new windows and monitors in the main entry way. School officials say the change was highly needed for security reasons.

"Schools are so open and their so susceptible to things happening that we wanted to make sure we have a safe environment and that we were able to secure that environment with this type of entrance so that we will be able to monitor more effectively," says Shelia Baker, Principal of Russell County High School.

Principal Baker says the project was over a million dollars paid for
by the school district.
