School districts have already canceled school in anticipation of winter weather Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The list of closings are as follows:

Alabama
  • Auburn City Schools — Closed Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18
  • Barbour County Schools — Closed Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County
    • Annual Champions For Kids Luncheon — Canceled

    • The board meeting scheduled for tonight, January 16 has been rescheduled to January 23 at 5:30 p.m.

  • Chattahoochee Valley Community College — Closed Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18.
  • Columbus State University — Closed Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18
    • CSU extracurricular activities scheduled after 5 pm on Thursday may go on as scheduled. The ribbon cutting and grand opening for CSU’s Bo Bartlett Center will take place at the center at 5 p.m. The CSU basketball games have been rescheduled to Monday night. Participants should make their travel decisions based on the safety of conditions in their own area. Organizers are reminded that conditions are expected to vary widely throughout the Chattahoochee Valley and it may not be safe for everyone to be on the roads.
  • Columbus Technical College — Morning and evening classes canceled Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18 
  • Georgia Military College — Will open at 12 p.m. Thursday, January 18
  • LaGrange College- Closed, Wednesday, January 17. Will re-open at 1 p.m. Thursday.
  • Mercer University Campus – All Mercer campuses, other than Savannah, will be closed, Wednesday, January 17 and classes are canceled.
    •  The Fresh Food Company in Connell Student Center on Macon Campus will be operating normal hours.
  • Miller-Motte Technical College (Columbus) — All daytime classes canceled for Thursday, January 18. No word yet on evening classes for Thursday.
  • Rivertown School of Beauty — Closed Thursday, January 18
  • South Georgia Technical College (Americus & satellite campuses) — Closed Wednesday, January 17
  • Troy University (all campuses) –Closed Wednesday, January 17
  • Tuskegee University — Closed Thursday, January 18
