Sumter County Sheriff arrest suspect in felony murder case

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection to a shooting at Mask Road and Greystone Drive in Americus, GA on Wednesday. 

Deputies have arrested Christopher Shaun Hale. Hale is charged with aggravated assault and felony murder. 

Deputies say they responded to shots fired and a victim lying in the roadway at Mask Road and Greystone Drive in Americus, GA just before 11:30 p.m.

Deputies arrived on scene and located the body of a black male. The victim is identified as Jarvis Willis of Americus, GA.

The GBI says they arrived and began processing the scene with the assistance of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division. After developing information and eyewitness accounts, it revealed that the armed confrontation occurred at the residence of Hale; which is approximately 40 yards from where the victim’s body was found.

The GBI and Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division are actively attempting to identify additional suspects in this case.
