Mango Strange is a fresh, young band out of Columbus, Ga that brings the “umph” to every performance. They describe their sound as southern-blues-classic rock. They perform every Wednesday at The Loft. They are also performing Saturday, Nov 3rd at Callaway Gardens for Steeplechase at the Infield.
They say their musical influences are bands such as The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic, and The Eagles.
They gave us a little taste of their sound with the cover below:
The band originated in early 2017 and, after several personnel changes, the group has solidified its lineup to include Will Ward (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Jason Davis (Lead Guitar), Brooks Northrup (Bass), Trey Eakle (Vocals/Guitar), Don Tipton (Keyboard) and Travis Hatley (Drums).
Mango Strange says they like to focus on live performances. They’ve traveled all over the state of Georgia to perform in places such as Atlanta, Athens, Statesboro, and Savannah.
Mango Strange explores the never-ending possibilities of classic jams through improvisation
and synergetic communication.
The group is currently working on a portfolio of original compositions for their debut EP they plan on releasing in the near future.
