Three suspected cocaine traffickers arrested

MONTGOMERY, AL - Three suspected cocaine traffickers are facing charges of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance according to the United States Attorney Louis V. Franklin, Sr.

Authorities say Jose Ocampo-Gonzalez, 49, Kristopher Kashif Baker, 32, and Robert Reynolds, Jr., 47, all from Tuskegee, were arrested this week and are currently in United States Marshal's custody awaiting a detention hearing.

According to a news release from the Department of Justice of the Middle District of Alabama, the arrests follow a federal investigation that allowed authorities to recover nine kilograms of cocaine, 23 kilograms of marijuana, 100 grams of crack cocaine, and 221 grams of hydrocodone, over $260,000 and at least 13 firearms were found.

The news release says each defendant is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system.
