Troup County School System has now rolled out an After School Meal Program to all three high schools; Callaway, LaGrange, and Troup. They say the purpose of the program is to ensure that students who participate in after-school activities receive a healthy meal before returning home.

“Many of our student-athletes may not make it home until late in the evening. When we researched the program and saw other local districts successfully operating this program, we knew we could implement it in Troup County,” said Diana Pain, Troup County School System Director of School Nutrition.

This program is at no cost to the students. They only require the students are under 18 at the start of the school year and they must be located on the school campus and/or participating in an on-campus activity.

“We are glad to offer another opportunity for our students to have a nutritious meal during the day,” said Pain, Troup County School System Director of School Nutrition.
