LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — President Donald Trump drew a crowd as he spoke at the Smiths Station Baptist Church serving as a volunteer center for Lee County storm victims.

One volunteer, Ada Ingram, said President Trump signed several hats and bibles including one of a 12-year-old boy, according to the White House Public Pool. The move excited the crowd as they applauded the president, she said.

Volunteer Emily Pike says the president and first lady signed a small Bible owned by her 10-year-old daughter, Meredith Pike. She said he also signed a bible for one of her friends.

Trump toured the devastation and visited with victims Friday taking photos with survivors and honoring those who died during the Sunday tornados.
