The Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force along with other agencies arrested two suspects after receiving an anonymous tip about an individual who was wanted for multiple vehicle thefts in the Alexander City area on Friday.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Allen “Nunnie” Sandlin Jr., of Alexander and 25-year-old Selena Moten.
The news release from the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force says they executed a search warrant at a residence on Booker Street in Alexander City.
Investigators say the break came after going door to door and interviewing persons of interest who had previous contact with the suspect.
The news release says during a search of the suspected “safe house”, investigators found an individual hiding inside a dryer. They later found out d that the homeowner assisted the suspect in his attempt to evade law enforcement.
Sandin Jr. is charged with three counts of attempting to elude, obscuring identity of a vehicle, first-degree receiving stolen property, obstructing justice using a false identification, possession of controlled substance, certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm and resisting arrest.
Moten was charged with possession of controlled substance, first-degree hindering prosecution and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
The investigation of the possession, distribution and trafficking of illegal narcotics is ongoing in Tallapoosa County.
