Monday, Lagrange Police provided updates on two shooting investigations following incidents including a death, that happened one week ago on January 29th.
Police say, an arrest in the Juniper Street shooting was made on Sunday.
“I received notification that the suspect we had obtained warrants on was here at the Lagrange Police Department wanting to speak with a detective.”- Lt. Dale Strickland, Lagrange Police Department.
Police say that man was Jomo Lindsey.
He’s accused of shooting Deonte Johnson in the chest.
Johnson is now listed in stable condition but he will never be the same.
“It was determined by medical personnel that he is now paralyzed from…approximately his waist down as a result of the gunshot wound he received during that shooting…that assault. “- says Strickland.
Police describe what happened after Lindsey met with a detective.
“Officers met with him in the lobby area of the Lagrange Police Department and took him in to custody because there were active warrants for his arrest. He was then interviewed and transported to the Troup County Jail where he’s being held. “- says Strickland.
News Three inquired about a possible bond being set.
“There is probably not a bond at this time. He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during certain crimes.”- says Strickland.
During the other shooting on lady elaine street the victim Antonio Harris died.
“Upon the arrival they located a male subject inside the home that had a single gunshot wound and was not responsive.”- says Strickland.
Police say no arrests have been made but…
“We believe that there were more than one involved in the shooting… based on the number of shell casings that were located there at the scene.”- says Strickland
