UPDATE: UGA fan reunites fan with wedding band lost at UGA/Auburn game

ATHENS, Ga. (WRBL) - A massive social media search has reunited a lost wedding band with its owner.

“The owner just contacted me and verified the additional inscription! It Is a family heirloom, and he is newly married,” Michelle Jackson posted on her page.

Jackson’s posted about finding the ring while attending the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry Football game between Auburn and Georgia on Saturday. At last look the post had been shared more than 30,000 times.

“Would love to return to its owner.  Additional inscription makes me think it has been handed down to its most recent owner,” wrote Jackson.

News 3 would like to interview the owner of the ring. If he remains nameless, it’s enough to know UGA and Auburn fans came together after a bitter rivalry game and used social media as a powerful tool for good. Go Dawgs and War Eagle!

Jackson is smart too; she’s not sharing the additional inscription saying the owner will know it. ❤️
