UPDATE
According to the Columbus Police Department, an accidental shooting death happened at the Whisperwood Apartments late Sunday night.
According to the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office, 20-year-old Octavious Towels of Auburn was the victim who accidentally shot himself.
Representatives with the Columbus Fire Department say the shooting happened in the apartment.
The Coroner’s Office tells News Three the victim is from Auburn.
We’re told his body is being sent to Atlanta for an autopsy.
