Waffle House teams with House of Heroes to aid veteran

Volunteers from Waffle House teamed up with House of Heroes to help complete much-needed home repairs for the spouse of a veteran. 

Kate Spencer, the widow of Sergeant First Class Otis Spencer was thrilled to see the volunteers on hand to honor her husband. Otis Spencer passed away in 2010 but will always be remembered as a hero by his family and friends.

“It is a blessing, I waited so long for to have it done I was able to my husband had passed away I just couldn’t do anything and the good Lord sent house of heroes and all these volunteers to me,” says homeowner Ella Spencer. 

Since its inception the Chattahoochee Valley chapter of House of Heroes has honored more than 850 veterans and their spouses.
