MACON CO., Ala. (WRBL) – A homicide investigation continues as we now know the identity of a female body found in a wooded area of Macon County.
SBI agents tell News 3, the woman is 51-year-old Melissa Metcalf. Her last known address was Autauga County. Agents say the last time anyone had seen Metcalf, was the first of June. SBI Agents confirm foul play is suspected, but are not releasing a cause of death.
Metcalf’s body was discovered July 11th by workers burning trees and brush in the area of Tysonville Loop.
Sheriff Andre’ Brunson said it did not appear the body had been there for a long time.
