On March 28, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Commercial Gambling Unit raided three business in Woodbury for gambling violations.
The raid, conducted in cooperation with the Georgia Lottery Corporation and the Georgia Department of Revenue aided the Woodbury Police Department in execution of search warrants for “Two Stop a/k/a Fuel Stop,” owned by Skyland Ventures, LLC at 10966 Millarden Road, “Woodbury Citgo (S&R Foods) at 18608 Main Street,” and “Rana’s Tobacco Outlet (Zahra 786, Inc.) at 11011 Millarden Road.
After what is described as a “lengthy investigation by the Woodbury Police Department,” local officers discovered that the three business were “operating Coin Operated Amusement Machines (COAMS) where customers were receiving cash payouts for winning credits.
Georgia law dictates that COAMS must be properly licensed by the Georgia Lottery and credits may only be redeemed for lottery tickets or merchandise that is available at that location.
While searching eac hlocation, “officers and agents collected evidence related to crimes of commercial gambling and seized monetary assests gained from gambling activity.”
Arrests are pending, no names have been released for those facing charges as a result of the warrants executed.
