ITT Tech students stranded as college chain closes worldwide

(KDKA) – Wednesday was the day ITT Technical Institute was supposed to re-open after a long holiday weekend. However, that wasn’t the case after an email was sent out to students at 7:07 a.m. Tuesday.

“I got word a few hours ago school was supposedly closing,” student Patrick Richards says.

Even though ITT made the announcement last week that the school was no longer accepting new students, Richards says he never expected this.

“I’m just really concerned right now. What’s gonna happen with my loans?” Richards says.

So is Cassie Suchecek. She is also concerned about her credits.

“Even if I transfer to another school, I’m probably not gonna be able to start third quarter until at least January because their classes are already started,” student Cassie Suchecek says.

ITT announced Tuesday morning that it shut down more than 100 campuses across multiple states leaving thousands of students and employees searching for answers.

The closing includes four Atlanta campuses.
