President Donald Trump will deliver his first State of the Union Address tonight before a joint session of Congress.
During the speech, President Trump is expected to highlight his accomplishments during his first year in office. The President told reporters on Monday he will also cover his proposed immigration overhaul and speak about the trade.
Lawmakers are allowed to invite guests to join them for the address. Many are using their invites to make political statements on subjects like the military, hurricane, and aid the #METOO movement.
Mr. Trump is expected to begin speaking around 9 p.m. eastern. Massachusetts Congressman Joe Kennedy will deliver the official Democratic response to the State of the Union.
