San Diego police search for second suspect after 2 officers shot

UPDATE: 

8:30 a.m. — San Diego’s police chief confirms the second officer wounded in Thursday night’s shooting is out of surgery and expected to live. A second officer shot during the incident was killed.

6:30 a.m. — San Diego police confirm one officer has died after a late night shooting Thursday. One other officer was shot and heads into surgery Friday morning.

Police continue their search for one of the suspects in this shooting.

SAN DIEGO, Ca (CBS/AP) — Police say two police officers have been shot in a San Diego neighborhood late Thursday night. They say one suspect is in custody and a second is still at large.

The condition of the officers was not immediately available.

There was no immediate word on what started the shooting, which happened around 11 p.m. PDT in the southeastern part of the city.
