New Break-in Investigation: Midtown Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA. – We have an update tonight.

Police are working to learn if today’s break-in in Midtown Columbus- is tied to the rash of break-ins in Uptown Columbus.

News 3 was the first and only station at the scene this morning.

Columbus Police confirm a break-in happened in the 34 hundred block of Cherokee Avenue.

Police say they’re working to confirm if today’s break-in- is tied to the eight break-ins from yesterday.

Remember they happened in the Bridlewood neighborhood.

One man says he was at his parent’s home- when he saw four men leaving his neighbors house.

The man who doesn’t want to be identified says– he made his presence known to the suspects.

He says one of the men threatened to kill him.

The man says his father has a security camera on his home- and according to them- a black Audi is seen leaving the scene in the video.

Yesterday – police say four men broke into eight homes in the North Columbus neighborhood of Bridlewood.

This man says he’s not willing to release his security video at this time.

He did tell me that he would be willing to release it to us– at a later date.

Right now, we’re working to learn if the rash of break-ins in the Bridlewood neighborhood are in any way tied to today’s break-in in Midtown Columbus.
