NWS says EF-0 tornado hit Foley, AL Sunday afternoon

FOLEY, Ala. (WIAT) — Fellow Nexstar Media Group station WKRG News 5 in Mobile reports the NWS has confirmed a tornado hit South Alabama on Sunday afternoon.

According to WKRG, the NWS reports an EF-0 with winds of 60-80 miles per hour caused damage about 1.9 miles southeast of Foley.

The NWS reported the tornado furst touched down at Anchors Aweigh RV resort where it overturned five RVs. Three people inside the RVs were injured. The tornado continued northeast to just east of the intersection of Highway 59 and County Road 20. Minor damage to a convenience store canopy and t the Lowe’s were observed. The tornado lifted near the intersection of Pride Drive and Juniper Street.
