OPELIKA, Ala.- Opelika Police Department Captain, Shane Healey says over the course of Thursday night, several cars on Double Eagle Lane were broken into.

Captain Healey says some of the cars had items stolen from inside of them.

There are currently no suspects at this time, but Captain Healey says these break-ins are becoming more and more common. He added “They’ll go to a particular neighborhood and go around and burglarize a bunch of cars over the course of an evening, whether they go looking for unlocked cars or go around a neighborhood smashing out windows or if it’s a more professional group that is punching door locks or whatever, they’ll select a particular area.”

If you have any information on this case, you are asked to call the Investigative Division at 334-705-5220.
