Rash of break-ins

COLUMBUS,Ga.- Police say the suspects stole an A-R -15 and several electronics.

They also tell us two teenagers were in two of the homes– at the time of the robberies.

We’re told that during the break-ins there was a teenage girl in one home–and a teenage boy in another.

Police say the suspects kicked in doors to get inside the homes. Once the suspects saw the teens inside… They took off.

We spoke with one neighbor who didn’t want to show his face.He says he’s uneasy after seeing the whole thing happen.

“I am gonna get a gun. I talked to the officer about it. He said you have every right to. I said well I’m getting a gun”, is what the neighbor said to News 3.

News 3 was there as police towed away a silver sedan which is believed to have been used in the crimes. It was found just hours ago at the Elizabeth Cante Apartments in Columbus. Police tell us they’re still searching for the suspects… And we want to warn you again- they may be armed.

Police say if you notice anything suspicious, you’re asked to contact them immediately.
