MERIWETHER COUNTY, Ga. – Sheriff Chuck Smith has reported that the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office along with the U.S. Secret Service have charged a teen with terroristic threats and acts against a Presidential Candidate.
The Sheriff’s Office along with U.S. Secret Service took a 15-year-old male teen into custody Friday, March 25.
Sheriff Smiths says the 15-year-old went on social media and made death threats against Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. The threats were posted within the last couple of days and were reported to the FBI Hotline who forwarded the information to the U.S. Secret Service.
The teen is being detained at the Columbus RYDC pending a court hearing.
There was another recent incident that occurred in Troup County.
