Governor Ivey meeting with automaker executives in Japan

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is on her way to Japan for meetings with executives of automakers Toyota, Mazda and Honda.

The governor is leading a small team of Alabama economic development specialists on a mission to grow the state’s automotive sector.

The Japan mission comes as the Mazda-Toyota Manufacturing USA is beginning to move forward wiht plans for a $1.6 billion assembly plant in Huntsville.

The play will employ about 4,000 people.
