A new logistics company is making it’s way to Opelika.
Workers and city officials celebrated with a ribbon cutting and a tour of the new facility Tuesday.
Aero-costa Global Systems Incorporated distributes aluminum wheels to the Hyundai plant in Montgomery and the Kia Plant in West Point.
Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller says the new industry helps boost the local economy and empower citizens.
“Every time we attract new, high paying jobs it’s good business across the board, and of course good paying jobs allows our people to improve their housing, better educate their children, and we wanna empower our people by helping them get good jobs and to be successful,” says Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller.
The $6 million, 130,000 square foot warehouse is just phase one of the company’s construction plan.
Aero-costa’s General Manager says they plan to build two more warehouses to expand their business over the next five years.
