Lee County Coroner Bill Harris confirms 58-year old Christopher Frederick Walker of Alexander City died instantly in an accident involving another vehicle.
Officials say the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday in the 5000 block of U.S. Hwy 280 West.
Police say Walker was traveling east when he hydroplaned, left the roadway and hit a tree. He hit another vehicle causing it to hit a tree as well.
The 55-year old female driver from Tallapoosa County in the other vehicle and a passenger in Walker’s vehicle were transported to East Alabama Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police say the weather is being considered a factor as the roadways were wet from recent rains. The accident remains under investigation by the Lee County Coroner’s Office and the Alabama State Troopers.
