DOTHAN, Ga — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says a woman is dead as a result of injuries she got during a car crash Tuesday afternoon.
A statement by ALEA Tpr. Kevin Cook says 65-year-old Ray Catherine Pinkney was a passenger in a Ford Explorer that left the U.S. 231 roadway at 4:40 p.m Tuesday. He says Pinkney was not wearing a seat belt and sustained heavy injuries.
Pinkney was pronounced dead at 8 p.m. Tuesday night.
Cook says the driver of the Explorer 47-year-old Lucretia Westfield from Troy, Alabama was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Alabama State Troopers say they continue to investigate.
