The Auburn Tigers got a hero’s sendoff Tuesday on the Plains as they left for San Diego for the first round of the NCAA Tournament in the Midwest region.
Waiting for the Tigers will be the College of Charleston. In 1997, as a #12 seed, the Cougars upset Maryland for their only NCAA tournament win.
“I would say Arkansas would be a team they would remind me of, but with a four man that can really go break you down,” head coach Bruce Pearl said. “With those really good guards (Jaylen) Barford being able to go one-on-one, Arkansas would be a team that they would remind me of just with their ability to score and make plays in space.”
Tip off is set for 7:30 EST.
