SHORT TERM FORECAST:
Readings will be the story for this short term forecast, with temperatures by Friday increasing into the lower eighties. Plenty of sunshine, of course, until Saturday’s strong cold front enters the region.
This cold front will bring a significant spring snowstorm across the northern tier states Friday and across the Great Lakes by the weekend. As you know common sense 101 meteorology farther south we have a severe weather set-up towards our west.
WEEKEND LIKELY WEATHER AWARE (SATURDAY PM):
The timing of this system will be critical, with any additional heating. Now it could arrive late afternoon, with a strong low level jet and plenty of cold air aloft for supercell activity. This means measurable hail.
Now it appears to weaken into our region, so we must be vigilant and prepared. It appears to more marginal but this is a strong storm as we get into April, this is when storms become a bit more volatile.
