NWS: EF0 tornado confirmed in Muscogee, Harris and Talbot Counties

National Weather Service meteorologists have confirmed a tornado did touch down in a portion of Muscogee County, the southeast portion of Harris County and a small portion of western Talbot County from Sunday morning storms.

Estimated wind speeds were 80 mph which rates the tornado as an EF0. On the Enhanced-Fujita Scale an EF0 has wind speeds of 65 to 85 mph.

The tornado was on the ground for approximately 8.5 miles and roughly 100 yards in width.

The tornado touched down at 10:46 AM roughly 4 miles east of Midland along the Muscogee/Harris County line along Deerwood Court snapping a few pine trees along the way and lifted at 10:55 AM roughly 7 miles west of Talbotton.

One home did sustain minor shingle damage and two small trailers were rolled from the winds at a hunting camp on Crossing Ridgeway Road. Dozens of trees were snapped while the tornado made it’s trek across Harris and Talbot Counties.
